USCIS case status · Interview

Interview Was Scheduled

What it means

USCIS set a date for your interview and mailed the notice. It names the office, the date and time, who must attend and what to bring.

What usually happens next

You attend the interview. Afterwards the status changes to show it was completed, and the officer either approves the case, asks for more evidence or needs more time to decide.

What to do now

  • Read the interview notice carefully and gather every document it lists, with originals.
  • Bring your interview notice and photo ID; arrive early.
  • If you must reschedule, do it as early as possible; rescheduling can add months.

Questions

Can I bring a lawyer or an interpreter?
You can bring an attorney. Whether you may bring an interpreter depends on the form; your notice says what is allowed.
