How We Get Our Data

Every figure on ImmigraMate comes from the government agency that publishes it. This page says which one, how it reaches the site and when it changes, so you can check anything you read here.

Case Status

When you enter a receipt number, we ask USCIS for that case through its own case status service and show the status as USCIS wrote it. We add an explanation of what the status usually means, but the status itself is never changed.

Processing Times

From the processing times USCIS publishes for each form and office. When USCIS publishes new figures, the site loads them and shows the month they belong to.

USCIS processing times

Visa Bulletin

From the monthly Visa Bulletin of the US Department of State. Each bulletin is added after the State Department publishes it, usually in the middle of the month before it applies, and past months stay on the site so they can be compared.

Filing Fees

From the USCIS fee schedule (Form G-1055) and USCIS announcements of fee changes. When a fee changes on a known date, both amounts are kept, with the date the new one starts.

USCIS Approval Rates

From the quarterly data files USCIS publishes on its Immigration and Citizenship Data page: cases received, approved, denied and pending for each form. Every figure shows the quarter it covers and links the file it comes from.
